DOE Fellows present at McNair
 

The Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program prepares under represented students to pursue doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. The research Symposium of the McNair program at FIU was conducted on October 28th and 29th, 2009. This year three DOE Fellows presented their research conducted at DOE National Laboratory (Savannah River and Oak Ridge National Laboratories) and DOE Contractor (Columbia Energy & Environmental Services Inc.) . These summer internships and research were sponsored by the DOE-FIU Science Workforce Development Program. The titles of research and presentation were:

  • Wiped Film Evaporator Pilot Scale Experimental Design Data Analysis

  • Determining the Effects of Radiation on Aging Concrete Structures of Nuclear Reactors

  • Verification and Validation of the AMROC Fluid Solver Framework Coupling with DYNA3D within the Virtual Test Facility Fluid Structure Interaction Suite
