Bova Named 2006 Melanie Rosborough Award Recipient
Congratulations to ARC Executive Affairs Coordinator,
JoAnn Bova, who was named as the 2006 Melanie Rosborough
Award recipient for her work with the American Association
of University Women.
The American Association of University Women (AAUW), founded
in 1881, promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong
education, and positive societal change. Membership in
the AAUW is open to all graduates who hold a baccalaureate
or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or
university.
The Melanie Rosborough Award is presented each year to
an AAUW Miami Branch member recognized for outstanding
service. The award was established in 1984 to honor Dr.
Melanie Rosborough, former president of the Miami Branch,
who also served as President of the Florida State Division
and as Vice President for the Southeast Region of AAUW.
Each year, the preceding award recipient passes down the
tribute at the Annual Branch Meeting.
JoAnn Bova has been an active member of the AAUW since
1999 and currently serves on the Board of Directors as
the Vice President of Programs for the Miami Branch. For
